Quality Issues

At Shannonside Galvanizing we strive for continuous improvement in our processes. To this end, our team members regularly undergo training in the many variety aspects of the galvanizing process.

In March 2010 two of the team qualified as “Hot Dip Galvanizing Inspectors”. Dermot O’Brien and Michael O’Connor successfully completed the ICorr  ( Institute of Corrosion) run course in association with the Galvanizers Association.

Dermot and Michael are the only two people qualified in this area of expertise in Ireland, and we at Shannonside Galvanizing, hope that you our valued customers will take advantage of this bank of knowledge for your benefit.

The course included basic corrosion mechanisms and the role that hot dipped galvanizing plays in the protection of structural and plant steelwork. It also covers all areas of surface preparation, coating application, testing and measurement.
